How the Conversion Process Works The workflow is straightforward and designed to give you complete control over the final audio. First, AudioBC intelligently reads your EPUB file and extracts the story, automatically filtering out non-narrative clutter like the table of contents, footnotes, and index pages. This extracted text is then saved as a simple file that you can easily review, edit, or correct before any audio is generated. Finally, you just choose your favorite voice, and AudioBC synthesizes the text and encodes it into a single, high-quality MP3 file that is ready for your phone, car, or media player. Premium Features and Supported Languages AudioBC is built to provide a premium listening experience using the highly realistic, expressive voices of the Kokoro-82M AI model. It includes curated, high-quality voices for English (US & UK), Italian, French, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese. The application also features a beautiful interface that automatically adapts to your system's Light or Dark mode. Because it is highly optimized, it runs efficiently on standard computer processors and does not require an expensive graphics card to generate audio. Important Setup Information Getting started is easy, but there are a few initial requirements. Upon your first conversion, AudioBC will automatically download the neural voice model, which is approximately 300 MB. An internet connection is required for this one-time setup, but all future conversions are completely offline. The application also relies on FFmpeg to create the final MP3 file, and eSpeak-ng for non-English languages. If you do not have these tools installed on your system, AudioBC includes a handy Settings tab where you can download and configure them with a single click.
