The goal of the game is to find all hidden color pairs. If opened fields are not of the same color, then they close automatically and you need to try again to find the correct pair. If you choose to play the memory game with time limit, then you need to find all color pairs in a limited amount of time. Time limit depends on the number of fields. The game ends when time expires.
